FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

VISITING CHANDON

What transport options are available?

Taxis and rideshare services have limited availability in the Yarra Valley, so we highly recommend pre-booking your transport. Chandon is not accessible by public transport; the nearest train station is Lilydale.

Can I visit without a booking?

Bookings are recommended to secure your preferred time, especially on weekends or holidays. Walk-ins are welcome and accommodated where space allows. Our boutique is open daily for retail sales to walk-in guests.

Do you offer private or corporate event bookings?

Yes, we host a range of intimate events in our Homestead, including private dining and corporate gatherings. Other areas of the property may also be available upon request. To explore event options, contact us — we’re happy to help.

Can our hens/bucks party visit CHANDON?

For the comfort of all guests, hens or bucks parties are only permitted provided they are not themed, decorated, or costumed in any way. Please note that we have a maximum group size of 12. Our team strictly enforces the responsible service of alcohol, and no disrespectful behaviour will be tolerated.

Can I propose to my partner at Chandon?

You are very welcome to propose in any of our beautiful public spaces (please note that entering the vineyards is not permitted). If you’d like our staff to assist, you can organise a tailored proposal experience — contact us to explore options.

Can I bring a birthday cake or decorations?

Cakes are welcome in the restaurant, with a $5 per person cakeage fee. Please mention this in your booking notes. Cakes and decorations are not permitted in the lounge bar, which is a dedicated wine tasting space.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies?

We are pleased to cater for most dietary requirements and food allergies. You can view our menus online. Please advise us of your needs in your booking notes so our team can assist you. However, as our kitchen handles a wide variety of ingredients, we cannot guarantee that traces of allergens will not be present in our dishes.

What facilities do you have for children?

While our winery is more suited to a grown-up crowd, children are welcome. As we are a working agricultural property, for safety reasons children must be strictly supervised at all times. Our accessible bathroom has a change table, and we offer a limited kids’ menu in the restaurant and lounge bar.

Can I bring my dog to Chandon?

For the comfort of all guests, pets are not permitted in any areas of our cellar door, nor on outdoor terrace areas. Guide dogs and accredited service animals are welcome in all areas.

Can I take photographs, film or use a drone on-site?

Personal photography is welcome, but professional photoshoots (engagements, weddings, formals) are not permitted. For safety reasons, drones must not be used on the property. Editorial or commercial photography will be considered on request—please contact us for details.

Do you have a surcharge?

A 15% surcharge applies on public holidays and a 10% surcharge applies on Sundays for all tasting and dining experiences. Retail sales are exempt from these surcharges.

ACCESSIBILITY

Is Chandon accessible for guests with limited mobility?

We offer accessible parking, bathrooms, and wheelchair access to most guest areas, including our restaurant, lounge, tasting bar, and boutique. Some private rooms require the use of stairs. If you have specific requirements, please contact us before your visit so we can assist.

Do you have disabled parking?

Yes, we have dedicated disabled parking spaces in our customer car park. There is a 50m paved path (without any steps) from the car park to the visitor centre. If you require assistance moving from the car park to the cellar door, please contact us ahead of your visit so we can provide assistance if required. For Homestead bookings, priority parking can be arranged on request.

Are accessible bathrooms available?

Yes, there is an accessible bathroom located inside the visitor centre. Our restaurant, lounge bar, tasting bar, and boutique all have access to this bathroom.

Are your tables wheelchair friendly?

All restaurant tables are standard heights of 75cm and are wheelchair accessible. The lounge bar includes some high bar tables—please let us know your requirements in your booking notes and we will ensure you have a suitable table.

Can I bring my service animal?

Guide dogs and accredited service animals are welcome in all areas.

ALCOHOL & RESPONSIBLE SERVICE

What is your approach to responsible service?

We are committed to responsible service and encourage our guests to enjoy our wines in moderation. Our team is trained to support responsible consumption and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.

If you're driving, we recommend abstaining from alcohol consumption and enjoy one of our non-alcoholic options instead. We reserve the right to refuse service for the comfort and safety of our guests and staff.

Do you have alcohol-free drinks available?

Yes, we offer a selection of alcohol-free beverages for anyone who prefers a non-alcoholic option.

How much alcohol is consumed during a tasting?

This will vary depending on the tasting you've booked. Our tasting notes will indicate approximate standard drinks, and our team can answer any questions. Water is provided with all tastings, and spittoons are also available for your convenience. We encourage you to taste responsibly—there's no pressure to finish each taste, feel free to skip a glass or pour it out.

Do you provide information on standard drinks?

Yes, standard drink information is available for all tastings and listed on our wine menus to help you make informed choices. As a guide, one glass of our sparkling wine is approximately 1.2 standard drinks.

ORDERS

How long does shipping take?

We generally offer next business day dispatch on your order (note this may be delayed during peak shopping periods). We ship with Australia Post, who recommend allowing 2–4 business days for delivery within Victoria, and 3–6 business days for all other states.

When your order is dispatched you will receive tracking updates from Australia Post via email, which can provide more information on the expected delivery date.

Do I need to sign for my delivery?

Yes, as our deliveries contain alcohol, a signature is required on delivery, or the order will be taken to your local post office. If you have an Australia Post account, you can request the delivery be left in a safe place once you have received a tracking notification email.

Can I buy a gift voucher at Chandon?

Absolutely. Chandon Experience Vouchers can be purchased online and mailed to you or directly to the recipient. They can be used for any winery experience, including tastings, dining, and retail purchases at the cellar door (not valid for online shopping). Vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your order. We will do our best to accommodate your request if the order has not yet been dispatched.

Do you offer international shipping?

We can ship private orders to select countries. Please contact us for a quote. Note that any import duties and taxes will be payable by the customer in the country of destination.

Do you offer special pricing for corporate or large orders?

We can arrange a quote for large orders and organise custom gifting solutions for corporate clients. Please contact us for more information.
