ÉTOILE IS THE PINNACLE EXPRESSION OF CHANDON, A PRESTIGE MULTI-VINTAGE SPARKLING THAT REDEFINES AUSTRALIAN LUXURY.
Founded in the Yarra Valley in 1986, CHANDON has spent decades refining the art of traditional-method sparkling in Australia. Étoile draws from our legacy of more than 30 years of Vintage Brut reserves, a library composed of hundreds of individual base wines, each polished smooth by time, instinct, and the craft of assemblage.
In its simplest sense, Étoile is a blend of our best blends. Yet behind that simplicity lies extraordinary depth: the accumulated wisdom of generations of winemakers, expressed through patience, precision, and imagination. Extended ageing on tirage adds texture and richness, while preserving the purity and vibrancy that define CHANDON’s distinctly Australian style.

THE STAR OF OUR CRAFT
The first release of Étoile marked the beginning of a bold new vision for Australian luxury sparkling — a story of possibility, and the freedom to create without constraint. Our winemakers began by building a strong foundation, layering vintages and varietals to craft balance, depth, and poise.
The result was a wine of luminous freshness and fine complexity, where notes of yuzu, bergamot and white peach met hints of pistachio nougat, pastry and allspice. Just 6,757 bottles announced Étoile’s arrival: refined, expressive, and full of promise. (Vintages : 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)
THE INTERPLAY OF COOL AND WARM
Étoile No.2 deepened that exploration of craft, embracing contrast as the path to harmony. Our winemakers began once again with a carefully structured base, then layered elements from warm and cool seasons to create tension and equilibrium. The interplay of opposites - citrus and sunshine, restraint and richness - revealed a cuvée that was both vibrant and composed.
Layers of mandarin, white peach and yuzu unfold into brioche, custard apple and bergamot, a seamless balance of precision and generosity captured in just 4,127 bottles. (Vintages : 2013, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2011, 2017, 2002, 2014)
A DARING FLAVOUR EXPLORATION
For Étoile No. 3, our winemakers reimagined what blending itself could be. Rather than beginning with a fixed foundation, they approached the process as pure composition. As they blended, something remarkable happened: new flavours began to emerge, as if two colours of paint were merging to form an entirely new shade. Blending as transformation, not assembly.
The result is a sparkling wine that stretches the boundaries of what we expect in the glass. Lifted and layered, generous yet finely poised, structured yet full of movement.
